That is, poke about 20 whole cloves into a ripe apple, place it on a plate and watch it work in your home. These fragrant pomanders (as they are called) can last for weeks. But of all methods, sanitation shall be the first measure of all defense. It is important to eliminate the breeding source to be fly free. Kitchen garbage should be brought out daily; spilled liquid food should be cleaned up quickly and completely. Food waste on which flies can find and lay eggs on should be covered or removed.
Secondly, exclusion also plays a critical role in good house fly management. Garbage cans and dumpsters should have tight-fitting lids and be cleaned regularly. Openings of buildings should be tightly screened with screen.
