Bee aware, Bee smart.
At 10:32AM, we received our first bee call this summer from concerned customer about swarming bees on a basketball hoop. Coincidentally, Pollinator Protection Week begins today. In its seventh year, the observance is an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by all pollinating animals with increased attention focused on bees. With honey bees facing serious issues such as Colony Collapse Disorder, we all must do our part to help protect pollinator health. It’s also important to understand the differences between good bees and potentially dangerous pests like hornets, wasps and yellowjackets when it comes to protecting our families’ health.
Remember, stinging insects send more than half a million people to the emergency room each year and some 2 million people are at risk of experiencing a life-threatening allergic reaction to insect stings.
Before you pick up that hornet spray or attempt to remove a hive or nest on your own, stop and call us. As a “bee aware” company, we care about bees and can offer solutions for safely relocating honey bees to help preserve our pollinator friends and eliminate potentially dangerous pests like hornets or wasps.
