5 Quick Bed Bug tips when checking in
I am asked on a regular basis, “How do you look for Bed Bugs when checking into a hotel”. Well, the answer is more in depth than covered in this article, however there are some simple and quick techniques you can do to identify an obvious Bed Bug problem and limit your exposure.
Look for black stains and/or live Bed Bugs, which can be seen by the naked eye, by using the following tips when entering the room.
1. Do not bring your luggage into the room until you have performed your inspection.
2. If you have to bring your luggage into the room, the safest place to put it is in the bathroom, as this area is less likely to have Bed Bugs.
3. Gently pull back the bedding at the head of the mattress and box spring and look for them around the seams.
4. Lift the headboard off the wall and inspect it as well at the mounting bracket.
5. Using a flashlight look between the bed and the wall, particularly in the crack where the baseboard meets the wall.
